BASIC PRINCIPLE OF RADIOGRAPHIC FILM INTERPRETATION

Radiography involves the use of penetrating X-ray or gamma radiation to examine the parts and products for imperfections. An X-ray generator or radioactive isotope is utilized as a way to obtain radiation. Radiation is exceeded through a specimen onto film or additional imaging media. The resulting shadow image displays the top dimensional features of the part. Feasible imperfections are indicated as density adjustments on the film very much the same as medical X-ray displays broken bones.
